Marcus Küchle

Both a successful pianist and arts manager, Marcus Küchle is Director of Artistic Operations at Cincinnati Opera and Co-Artistic Director of Opera Fusion: New Works, a partnership between Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, whose goal is the development and production of new opera.

Hired as a page turner for the Bayerische Staatsoper recital series at age 12, he observed a generation of the world’s leading singers and pianists up-close and is now a frequent judge at vocal competitions, including the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Küchle is a native of Munich, Germany and holds degrees from the prestigious Hochschule für Musik and Indiana University, where he studied with Edward Auer. One of the last protégés of the late Maestro Erich Kunzel (who hired him repeatedly as concerto soloist), Küchle maintains an active performing and recording schedule that takes him throughout the US, Canada, England, and Germany.
